IGNOU MPhil in Sociology Admission 2024: Master of Philosophy in Sociology is a post-graduate program and is a mirror equivalent of a PhD but a little bit different in various aspects. The course lasts two years, but in the case of distance education, it can last longer. Possesses Master’s Degree from a University recognized by UGC or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in such fields of study as are notified for the purpose from time to time by the University with at least 55% marks [50% marks in the case of SC, ST and OBC (Non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September 1991] excluding grace marks and Qualifies in the Entrance Test conducted by IGNOU at the national level.

The course would last a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years. The course fee for the program is INR 12,600 which is divided every 4 semesters. Each semester demand an INR 3150 course fee along with an admission form fee.
